What “Family Profiles” Do

Mi Smart Scale 2 is designed for shared use. Instead of mixing everyone’s weigh-ins into one timeline, the app lets you create separate family member profiles so each person has their own history, goals, and (when supported) body-related calculations. The scale can also recognize different users automatically in many cases, as long as profiles are set up correctly and weights aren’t too similar.

1) Requirements Before Adding Family Members

To manage profiles smoothly, confirm these basics on Android:

• Bluetooth is ON on your phone.

• Zepp Life / Mi Fit is installed and you’re signed in.

• The scale has power and wakes up normally (no low-battery warning).

• You’re using one main phone/account to set up family profiles (recommended), especially for households.

2) Where to Find Family Member Settings in the App

Depending on your app version, “Family Member” settings can appear in one of these common areas:

Option A: From the Profile menu

1. Open Zepp Life / Mi Fit.

2. Tap the menu (three dots) in the top corner (if available).

3. Tap Profile.

4. Select Family Member.

Option B: From the Bodyweight/Body Composition page

1. Open Bodyweight (or Body Composition if your scale/app supports it).

2. Tap Edit near the top of the page.

3. You’ll be taken to Family Members.

4. Tap Add to create a new profile.

If you don’t see “Family Member” immediately, look for Edit, Manage, or Settings inside the weight/body section.

3) Adding a New Family Member Profile

Creating a good profile isn’t just administrative—it improves automatic recognition and makes trend tracking more meaningful.

Steps to Add

1. Go to Family Members (using the paths above).

2. Tap Add.

4) Editing an Existing Profile

Profiles often need updates—height changes for teens, name changes, or correcting wrong settings.

How to Edit

1. Open Family Members list.

2. Tap the family member you want to change.

3. Select the field you want to update (nickname, height, etc.).

4. Save changes.

When to Edit Instead of Creating a New Profile

• Someone’s data is mostly correct but the nickname or height is wrong.

• The user’s weigh-ins are being misclassified due to missing/incorrect details.

5) Deleting a Family Member Profile (And What Happens to Data)

Deleting a profile is useful when:

• A family member no longer uses the scale

• A duplicate profile was created by accident

• You want to tidy up old household profiles

1. Open Family Members.

2. Select the profile.

3. Choose Delete (or remove option).

1. One phone/account becomes the “household manager.”

2. All family profiles are created and maintained on that account.

3. Family members simply weigh in; the manager checks the app occasionally to confirm assignments.

4. If someone wants private tracking, they can still maintain their own account—but it’s best to avoid constantly pairing/unpairing the scale between accounts.
